| Can anyone recommend a really good lip balm/salve? I usually use Boots own brand but recently my lips feel really dry and chapped, even though I apply it frequently. I know the cold weather doesn't help, or the central heating, but there must be something that would work. |

Thanks Eng, love the ingredients, including... Pure Thermal Plankton .
Soon as I saw your name I suddenly wondered if there is anything specifically for ski-ers. I suppose I could dollop a layer of lard on them!
Might give that Biotherm one a go. Pity it's in a jar not a stick, not so easy to cart around. |

I swear by Neutrogena Norwegian Formula. The handcream is v.gd too.
Sadly, no Pure Thermal Plankton in the ingredients list but it does come in a convenient stick form.
Amazon have got it:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000KU95EC/ref=nosim/coffeeuk26606-21
and I suspect it's probably in chemists all over UK. Even Southport. _________________ You're a lot happier when you're happy. |

mr flo swears by the Norwegian Formula wotsit one as well.
I still think starting with lip salve is the start of a viscious circle. I've never used it and never need it. Mr flo needs it constantly. All his sisters use it as well, constantly. |

If you go to somewhere that sells the Biotherm one, they might have free samples and those are in tubes _________________ If the result is contrary to the hypothesis, you've made a discovery |

I'm sure you are right Flo, but it's a bit late for me now .
The Neutrogena one looks very good Min, I do use their hand cream when I remember to buy it.
Thanks everyone, I'll keep my eyes open and see what I can find. |

I use plain old Vaseline most of the time. You can get it in handy little tins now too. An alternative I use if I need something extra strength is Carmex, which I get in either Boots or Sainsbury's. _________________ ******TEAM FLORA****** |

I thoroughly recommend Melrose Skincare:
http://www.melrose-skincare.co.uk/index.asp
It's like a huge stick of lip salve. I always have one in my bag and use it most days for my lips (and face if it gets too dry during the day), plus it gives me a good darts grip if I use it on my hands! It has lemongrass in it, and smell great. Lasts a long time _________________ There are some people whose sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others! |

| Ooh thanks for that RB, it is very reasonable too, and as you have recommended it I will give it a go if I can find it! |

Well I got a tube of Carmex but accidentally bought the cherry flavoured one instead of plain, so it tastes and smells like Tunes. It is quite good but wears off quickly.
I had it in the same handbag pocket as my mini Neutrogena hand cream tube, and caught myself putting the hand cream on my lips once or twice - not sure it had the desired effect. |

| Burt's Bees is what I'm using - much prefer it to Carmex which I'd used for years. |

Blistex lip cream. I never use salve like Flo I think it is the start of a viscious circle so I always use lip cream instead.
